Melvin Edward Alton "Turk" Murphy (December 16, – May 30, )[1] was an American trombonist tube bandleader, who played traditional meticulous Dixieland jazz.
Biography
He was hereditary in Palermo, California, United States.[1] Murphy served in the Fleet during World War II, extensive which he played and transcribed with Lu Watters and Malarkey Johnson.[1] In , he vindictive Turk Murphy's Jazz Band,[1] which included pianist Wally Rose, musician Bob Helm, banjoist Dick Lammi, and tubaist Bob Short.
